Annette Thomas, LCSW, founder of Heal and Restore PLLC

Hi, we are Heal & Restore PLLC, and our founder is Annette Thomas, LCSW. Annette is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 15 years of clinical experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

As an African American psychotherapist, wife, and mother of two, she understands the complexities of balancing multiple roles. Overcoming early motherhood at 16 shaped her strength and passion for helping others. Many clients tell us her picture and bio are what brought them in.

Her clinical background includes extensive work in school-based mental health, supporting students with behavioral challenges, trauma histories, emotional dysregulation, and academic difficulties. In private practice she specializes in trauma-informed care and evidence-based interventions that help clients process adverse experiences, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and develop healthier patterns of thinking and behavior.

She also has a strong focus on women’s mental health, including burnout, stress management, relationship challenges, parenting stress, and unresolved trauma. Our approach is structured, purposeful, and solution-focused. Your time is valuable. We help you identify patterns quickly and implement real-world solutions.

My Approach

I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing without feeling judged or rushed.

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and individualized. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and trauma-focused interventions.

I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Together, we will identify what is bringing you to therapy, what you want to change, and the tools that can help you move forward.

Therapy is not about telling you what you should do. It is about helping you gain insight, develop skills, work through difficult experiences, and make decisions that are aligned with the life you want to build.
